After marking its debut in the volume driven compact hatchback segment, World’s largest car maker Toyota is now planning to roll-out two more small cars in the Indian auto market. The company is also looking forward to add a new SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) in its India portfolio. As per the company,it is likely to partner with some other corporations like Japan’s Subaru, French Peugeot and sister company Daihatsu.


Maruti R3 MPV for India

According to the recent speculations in the Indian Auto Market, India's largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India is now adding a new car to their portfolio of cars in India by manufacturing a new MPV.

This new MPV is named Maruti Suzuki R3 & and will be available as a 7-seater MPV has stretched wheelbase of 2740mm which is 380mm more than that of the Ritz, the company has also added an additional overhang.

The length of the all new Maruti R3 is 4265 mm which is more than the critical four meter length and will surely not be able to qualify the small-car excise cut, which would have been a great boost to capture the price sensitive Indian car market.


Chevrolet Beat Electric - unveiling on June 23

Toyota Etios Liva to take on Swift, Micra, Polo in hatchback segment

Toyota may trigger a price war in the hatchback segment when it launches its first small car in India on June 27. The all new Toyota Liva is expected to start at just over Rs 4 lakh and the top-end version, complete with multiple airbags and anti-lock braking system, will be priced around Rs 5.5-6 lakh, said a company executive.

TATA Motors eyeing domestic assembly for Jaguar & Land Rover

Tata Motors announced the opening of an assembly unit of its subsidiary, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), in India. The production line is located in Tata Motors’ Pune plant, earlier used by Mercedes. Company is now planning to assemble complete knock down (CKD) units of Land Rover Freelander 2 in India.
