2012 Toyota Camry launched

Japanese auto major Toyota Motor Corp. launched its much anticipated 2012 avatar of the legendary Camry in India.

Launched at an introductory price of Rs. 23.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), Toyota officials confirmed that unlike the predecessor which was completely imported, the new Camry would be assembled locally at a new line in Toyota Kirloskar Motor's (TKM) 2nd plant in Bidadi, Karnataka.

Tata Motors, makers on the World's cheapest car 'Nano' announced the launch of its online store for the Nano Merchandise through 'ebay'.

Tata Motor's Global sales up 21%

India's largest Commercial Vehicle maker and owners of the iconic British car brands Jaguar Land Rover announced a global sales growth of 21%.

Tata Motors Global sales grew 21% at 101,605 units in July 2012 compared to July 2011 and a cumulative sales for the fiscal at 377,747 units up by 10% compared to 2011 - 12.




2013 Range Rover unveiled

Tata Motors, owners of the British iconic car brands Jaguar Land Rover unveiled the fourth generation of the Range Rover.

Jaguar and Land Rover which reported to do well in sales this fiscal have independently attained a 1% and 44% growth respectively making Tata Motor's cumulative global sales clock a 21% growth.

Maruti Suzuki to reopen Manesar Plant

India's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (MSIL) announced to reopen its Manesar plant which was locked out this July 21st.

MSIL officials confirmed that the security has enhanced and that the production at Manesar would restart gradually and a structured manner in phases.





Tata Motors appoints GM's Karl Slym as new MD

Ratan Tata disappointed on Tata Motors performance, aims at selling 2 lakh Nano this fiscal

On the venue of the 67th Annual General Meeting of Tata Motors, Ratan Tata addressed shareholders for the last time as the Chairman of the group.

During the meeting, Mr. Tata thanked all the shareholders and members of Tata Motors for the support extended all throughout the years and requested for the same to the next Chairman of the group, Mr. Cyrus Mistry, who would be taking on the position on December this year.





Honda India now a 100% subsidiary of Honda Motor Company.

Japanese auto major, Honda Motor Company has parted away from its 16 year old India operations partnership with Shriram Industrial Enterprise Ltd (Siel), a Siddharth Shriram Group company by acquiring its 3.16% stake in Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI).

Jaguar India launches special edition XKR

Tata Motors led British car icon Jaguar Land Rover launched a special edition of its XKR model. Priced at Rs. 1.27 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai)the new XKR is available in both coupe and convertible options.

Powering the new Jaguar XKR is a 5.0 liter Direct Injection V8 petrol engine pumping 510 PS power @ 6,000 rpm and 625Nm torque @ 2,500 rpm to 5,500 rpm. Mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, this new Jaguar makes 0 - 100 kmph in just 4.6 seconds and offers a top speed of 250kmph.

Renault working on a new 800cc small car

French car major Renault is understood to have started working on developing a entry level car for emerging markets like India.
