Hyundai’s new offering for India known until now by code name HA is announced officially as ‘Eon’.

This little hatch will compete against the famous player in the segment the Maruti Alto.
It is also in news that this new hatch is likely to replace the 13 years old Santro in India.

With increasing competition from rivals in India and Globally, Toyota Motor Corporation decided to upgrade its popular offering the Camry from a ‘please-all’ styling to a Bolder looking car.

Toyota has scheduled to launch the new Camry globally in 2012 and India would get it soon after that.
The new Camry comes fitted with larger, more angular headlights and larger fog lamps and the two chrome slats with the Toyota logo in between make the grille look more pronounced and add on to the overall styling.

Hindustan Motors has launched Veer – a new model in the small commercial vehicle (SCV) space. The 0.8 tonne SCV is HM’s second offering in the SCV market.

With Global companies expanding their presence in India and Indian companies going global, the new launch from Hindustan Motors hopes to revamp overall image of the company and its edge to restructure its business.




New 2011 BMW X3 launched .

BMW India has launched its all-new X3 SUV. The new X3 is available with a 2.0 184bhp and 3.0-litre 258bhp diesel engines.

The X3 comes with BMW’s eight-speed gearbox along with a Dynamic Damper Control and an engine start-stop function as standard.

Maruti Suzuki India to hire more people for R&D

Maruti India is planning to increase its head count in their R&D department by more than 20 per cent which counts to approximately 1500 personnels in the coming year. Maruti India is getting itself prepared to be one of the most dedicated firm with its research activities. They in took 102 new hirings in the fiscal year 2010-2011. To fund its research department, a Rs 2,500 crore investment has been done for a K-series engine plant and installing new R&D facility at Rohtak in Haryana.



2011 face lifted Tata Indica Vista.

The modified version of Tata Indica Vista will apparently break cover on August 22nd this year. Tata Motors is introducing their new Tata Indica Vista undergone few changes in terms of its design and looks. The new hatchback is expected to appear like Tata Manxa from front sporting a chromed grille and the double barrelled headlamp design.


Jaguar to take upon BMW

Audi to pitch into used car business in India

German luxury car maker Audi on Wednesday said it will start operations for its used car business in India by the end of this year, expecting it to account for up to 20 per cent of its new car sales in future.

"The way Indian market is growing, there is an opportunity in the used car business and we also want to tap it. By the end of the year, we will start our used car business under the Audi Approved Plus brand," Audi India Head Michael Perschke told reporters.


Nissan Sunny unveiled in India

After a long wait finally Nissan India unveiled the Nissan Sunny mid-sized sedan in India. The unveiling took place during a press conference during which the car was showcased in front of the media. The company however did not reveal any details of the car nor the pricing as it was just an unveiling and not a launch. There was a rumor about Nissan to change the name of the car for the Indian market which was proved wrong and Nissan will be sticking on to the ‘Sunny’ name for the mid-sizer.

Safety features in cars are now no longer about protection offered against accidents. Next generation car will be having systems advanced enough to sense the health conditions of the passengers. One such feature is introduced by Toyota. The company is said to be working on a steering wheel with a built-in electrocardiogram (ECG). In future, cars would be able to tell people if they were having arrhythmia or even if they were having a heart attack.

The set-up is simple, with contact sensors embedded in the steering wheel to detect abnormal heart rhythms via the driver's hands.
