Its official, Nissan Evalia launch on September 26th

Nissan India announced the launch of its most promising model for Indian market, the Nissan Evalia on September 26th.

The MPV which was first debut at the Auto Expo held at January 2012 in Delhi had gained a good attention and was since then awaited with a great anxiousness.

With all tests and review getting to a final stage, Nissan India have confirmed on the launch on the MPV towards the last week of September, which the Japanese auto major termed as "the music of innovation".

Powered by a 1.5 ltrs diesel engine, the new offering from Nissan is offered as a people mover rather than a family car/van. With maximum rated engine output of 85PS and 200Nm torque, power transmission is taken care by a 5 speed manual system.

With People transport a prime motto, the new MPV gets dimensions stretched compared to rivals in the segment. This 4.4 mtrs long MPV is taller than Toyota's Innova and Maruti's Ertiga, but width remains same as the Ertiga making it a slim MPV with plenty of headroom and higher seating position.

Manufacturing would happen at Renault-Nissan' joint facility at Chennai and would later get into Ashok Leyland's commercial segment under 'Stile' branding, which is expected to be launched next year.

With launch date confirmed, we can expect a serious shift in buyers who opt the current MPVs in India like the Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and the recently launched Maruti Ertiga.
