Honda Dream Yuga launched

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has launched its first mass-market motorcycle and the most anticipated bike for the Indian market, the 'Dream Yuga'.

The bike which was first unveiled at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo will be the latest in the long line of Honda ‘Dream’-badged motorcycles.

At the heart of the motorcycle is an 110cc engine producing 8.6PS of power at 7500rpm. Dream Yuga delivers 72kmpl (according to Honda) which the company claims to be derived through a test method which closely replicates city riding conditions. The engine uses Honda Intelligent Ignition Control System, which changes the ignition timing to optimize combustion for better power and efficiency.

Honda Dream Yuga comes with the segment first Tubeless tyres, which is however optional. Honda have also incorporated a viscous air filter and a maintenance free battery all to keep the 'reliability' at top priority. The Dream Yuga gets a long seat, long travel suspension, a heel and toe shifter and a company claimed comfortable riding position to make it as comfortable as possible.

Honda have launched the Dream Yuga in five colours and in three variants differentiated by spoke wheels, alloys and a self start system. Honda has also announced Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar as its brand ambassador.

At a price tag of Rs 44,642(ex-showroom Delhi), the Dream Yuga will compete with Bajaj Discover, Hero MotoCorp Passion Pro, Splendor Pro and the Yamaha YBR.
