XUV500 bookings reopens from June 8

Country's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra will re-open bookings for XUV500 from June 8, 2012. XUV 500 received a initial bookings of about 25,000 in the first eight months of its launch, but the company could deliver only 7,200 vehicles so far.


The SUV maker ramped up its production capacity in a phased manner to reach 3,000 units in January 2012. In order to cater to the growing demands, the company now plans to ramp up the number to 4,000 units per month. XUV 500 will now be available across India, in addition to the existing 19 cities where it had been launched earlier.

“It has been an incredible journey so far for the XUV500 and we are pleased to take the product national. Now that we have ramped up our production capacity significantly, we are confident that we will be able to take care of the growing all-India demand for the XUV500", said Mr. Pravin Shah, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M

Once bookings resume, the SUV can be booked for Rs 40,000-50,000, with the deliveries taking from a month to four months’ time.
