Renault launches Petrol version of Pulse

After launching the Pulse diesel version in January 2012, Renault has rolled out a petrol avatar of their hatchback starting at Rs. 4.25 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.

Renault has launched three petrol variants of their Pulse hatchback powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, 80PS motor, mated to a five-speed gearbox. The base RXE version starts at Rs. 4.25 lakh going up to Rs. 5.55 lakh for the top-end RXZ version, both ex-showroom Delhi.
Similar to the diesel, the petrol Pulse will be available in six exterior and two interior colour options. The top-end RXZ version is packed with safety and creature comforts including front dual airbags, automatic climate control, illuminated engine start/stop button, lock/unlock sensing folding outside rear view mirrors, all power windows, ABS , follow-me headlamps and integrated audio in terms of safety and comfort.

More than 80 per cent of the hatchback buyers opt for a diesel engine due to its practicality and lower ownership costs. Due to which, Renault launched the diesel Pulse first.

However, a number of buyers also consider petrol variants due to the oil burners higher intial cost which is difficult to offset when they have less kilometres to drive. The petrol version will cater to such audience.

Earlier this year, the French car maker also announced the localisation of their top-management in the country to understand the Indian buyers' perspective. The move will take shape in a matter of five years.
