Peugeot to re-enter India with the new '301' family car

PSA Peugeot Citroen, Europe’s second largest carmaker, is set to make its Indian debut with the new Peugeot 301. Peugeot has not specified on India debut, but the official release by the auto major says that the ‘family car’ has been developed to suit all types of operating conditions like hot and cold climate and poor roads.
The new 301 will be available in both petrol and diesel versions with power ranging from 71bhp to 115bhp. We can expect to have two engine variants for petrol, the 1.2 liter and 1.6 liter and a 1.6 liter in the diesel model, mated to a manual or automatic transmission.

The 301 will be the second car in the Peugeot range, after the 208, to get the new range of 3-cylinder petrol engines (1.2L VTi).


The car will be 4.44 meters long and comes with a 506 liter boot capacity. A 2.65 meter wheelbase would guarantee a roomier rear seats. Safety features list include ABS, ESP, Emergency Brake Assist, ISOFIX and will also have upto 4 Airbags.

The new Peugeot 301, manufactured at Peugeot’s Vigo (Spain) plant will premiere at the Paris Motor Show. Company plans to market the new model from November 2012, and sources confirms Turkey to be its first market. The car is expected in India in 2014.
