Nissan to launch 'Sylphy' in 2014

With Renault Nissan JV creating news around, the Japanese Auto major Nissan is very bullish on the Indian Market. Nissan India announced its plans to launch its Global Executive Saloon 'Sylphy' in India by 2014.



The company release with the statement 'Global Executive Saloon' created doubt about the positing of the new car. However Nissan have confirmed about this and plans to position the Sylphy between the Sunny and Teana would take the likes of Renault Fluence, VW Jetta and Toyota Corolla. Nissan would be pricing the Sylphy between 12 - 16 lakhs (ex-showroom).





The new Sylphy which was unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show this year. Nissan states that this car is roomier than other saloons in its class and is constructed with improved materials. The Sylphy will be powered by a 1.8-litre petrol engine mated to six-speed manual and CVT gearbox. But the big news is that it will also get Renault’s 1.5-litre 108bhp K9K diesel engine which also does duty in the Fluence.
